Don’t order plants online. N.C. Cooperative Extension of Watauga County will be holding it’s annual Fruit Plant Sale beginning February 1, 2021. We will be selling the following varieties of heirloom apples on semi-dwarf rootstock:  Carolina Red June, Fallawater, Gragg,Blackberries Golden Pippin, Jarret, McIntosh, Old Fashioned Winesap,  Roxbury Russet, Summer Rambo, Swiss Limbertwig, Virginia Beauty, Winter Banana, and Wolf River. New this year in very limited quantities Kinnard’s choice dwarf and Razor Russet dwarf. We will also offer Pear trees. We are often asked about peach, plum, and cherry trees but we choose not to offer them because the crop is often damaged by late-spring freezes, coupled with the fact that disease management is a challenge in the home orchard.

6 varieties of blueberries will be offered in gallon pots. The following will be offered bare root:  3 varieties of thornless blackberry, Red, golden and black raspberries, Junebearing and day-neutral strawberries, seedless grapes, and asparagus.

Stay tuned for complete information and order form. If you have not purchased from us before be sure to check our website after February 1 or email paige_patterson@ncsu.edu to receive the catalog and order form.
